We are the Irish distributers for EOS . EOS specializes in the
design, production and marketing of surgical implants for foot
surgery. O'Mara Medical distribute a complete range of
products : screws, staples (plates) and other implants
specifically designed for optimal treatment of foot and ankle
disorders.

Pedofix® – an innovative fixed-angle
plate system for foot surgery
Pedofix® was developed in cooperation with Dr. R.A. Fuhrmann,
a university lecturer, of the Waldkrankenhaus
Rudolf-Elle (Rudolf Elle Hospital, Orthopedic Clinic of the
Friedrich Schiller University of Jena) and Dr. Sikorski (Bonn)
- it covers a large
portion of the indications that can be treated with osteosynthesis (arthrodesis and osteotomy) on the forefoot and
rear foot.
The Brug malleolar plate - used for
fractures type B and C
The Brug malleolar plate is used for fractures type B and C.
The internal contours of the implant are adapted to the bone,
there is no need for additional adjustment to the bone.
Weakening of the bone is prevented by optimum contact to the
plate. The high elasticity of titanium alloy offers a good
load distribution. The low implant thickness reduces possible
irritations. The screws can be angled up to 15°, without that
the screw heads exceed the plate. These plates are fixed with
3.5mm cortical and with 4.0mm cancellous screws. A stable
reposition permits immediate partial load bearing, even
without casting. After 3 days full weight bearing is allowed,
thus rehabilitation time shortened. |

Argofix cannulated screws in Titanium alloy |
This program of cannulated screws offers a wide range
of diameters and lengths. They are all self-tapping
and self-drilling to simplify the operation and reduce
the surgical time. Their surface is specially treated
to avoid tissue attachment. To make a later metal
removal even easier, these screws have also a reverse
self-cut.
The screws are of Titanium alloy and thus biologically
well tolerated and compatible with Magnetic Resonance
(MRI) and Computer Tomography (CT) imaging. |
