geneX Putty - Preloaded Injectable bone graft with ZPC™

geneX® putty is a unique synthetic bone graft material, which possesses a consistent controlled negative surface charge (ZPC™). This initiates reproducible cell activity, driving endochondral ossification as the putty is fully resorbed and replaced by bone.

geneX® putty has been designed with an optimised composition of β-Tri Calcium Phosphate and an ultra pure Calcium Sulphate component, produced by a patented manufacturing process.

geneX® is the only bone graft material to show bone growth in the clinically relevant ’Boden’ Model, without the addition of BMPs, Autograft, marrow or growth factors.

ZPC™ Zeta Potential Control
Biocomposites has developed a unique process, ZPC™ making geneX the only bone graft material with a controlled, reproducible negative surface charge. This process controls the graft surface properties, initiating reproducible cell activity and accelerating bone formation.1,2

Key proteins are harnessed at the graft surface, directing bone cell adhesion and proliferation for rapid osteogenesis and bone formation.

Engineered to Drive Bone Healing though three key stages

STAGE 1

Negative Surface charge harnesses key proteins which enhances bone cell activity and attachment.

STAGE 2

Sulphate phase, as it resorbs, stimulates the formation of the cartilage intermediate phase – Endochondral Ossification.

STAGE 3

Negative surface charge facilitates the transition from cartilage to new bone. geneX naturally resorbed through bone remodelling process. Calcium ions aid mineralisation of new bone.

 

In-vivo, 8 weeks post implantation. NB - New Bone,

Residual geneX® putty is fully incorporated into new bone formation, to be naturally resorbed through remodelling processes.
