Tornier - Aequalis – FRACTURE
Indications
-Traumatic or pathologic conditions of the shoulder resulting in fracture of the glenohumeral joint, including humeral head fracture and displaced 3-or 4-part proximal humeral fractures.
-Revisions when other devices or treatments have failed.
Benefits
-Undisputed market reference: the Aequalis® Fracture is designed for correct positioning and tuberosity consolidation.
-A global concept: the combination of an implant, ancillary instruments and original technique for tuberosity reconstruction, developed by Professor Pascal Boileau.
-A simple, reproducible and reliable technique offering an excellent success rate in arthroplasty following fracture. |

Tornier Aequalis – RESURFACING HUMERAL HEAD
Indications
-The Aequalis® Resurfacing Head is indicated as a total or hemi shoulder joint replacement where the humeral head and neck are of sufficient bone stock and the rotator cuff is intact or reconstructable.
-The replacement of the joint with this device is indicated to relieve severe pain or significant disability caused by degenerative pathologies: osteoarthrisis, rheumatoid arthritis, post-traumatic arthrisis, primary and secondary necrosis of the humeral head.
-The Aequalis® Resurfacing Head is intended for uncemented use only.
Benefits
-Adaptable to every anatomy
Simple, precise and reproducible anatomic reconstruction: less invasive surgery, user-friendly instrumentation
-Excellent press-fit primary fixation thanks to its geometry
-Optimum secondary fixation achieved by its surface aspect |

Tornier – Aequalis – REVERSED/REVERSED (11)
Indications:
-Reversed shoulder is indicated for patients with a functional deltoid muscle as a total shoulder replacement for the relief of pain and significant disability following arthropathy associated with massive non repairable rotator cuff-tear.
-This device is also indicated for the prosthetic revisions with massive and non-repairable rotator cuff-tear.
-The humeral components are for cemented and cementless use.
-The Glenoid implant is anchored to the bone with 4 screws and is for non-cemented fixation
Benefits:
-The increases the length of the deltoid lever arm and therefore, the deltoid power.
-When the Aequalis Reversed prosthesis is implanted, the deltoid is the only muscle that acts on active elevation.
-Furthermore, moving the centre of rotation of the joint medially results in a greater muscle volume contributing to the elevation.
-Finally, the high congruence between the Glenoid sphere and the humeral insert component stabilizes the humerus.
-The humerus is firmly held by the Glenoid sphere, and contact is maintained by the tension of the deltoid. |

Tornier – Aequalis – REVERSED FRACTURE
Indications:
Tornier Reversed Fracture can be adapted to a hemi-prosthesis when:
-During the primary surgery, the Glenoid bone stock appears to be insufficient to bear the implant of the Glenoid components
-Glenoid bone fracture occurs intraoperatively
-The stem is also recommended for revision cases where bone quality is compromised.
Benefits:
-It is possible with this product to go from a standard hemi without removing the stem to a full reverse. |

Tornier Aequalis – PRESS FIT
Indications
-Degenerative pathologies: osteoarthritis, rheumatoid polyarthritis, post-traumatic arthritis. -Primary and secondary necrosis of the humeral head.
-Displaced 4-part upper humeral fracture.
Humeral head fracture.
-Other pathologies where arthrodesis or resectional arthroplasty of the humeral head are not acceptable.
-Revisions when other treatments or devices have failed.
Benefits
-Adapts to every anatomy: the different components are simply combined to reproduce the anatomy and kinematics of the patient’s shoulder.
-Excellent press-fit fixation thanks to its stepped metaphyseal geometry, enabling cancellous bone to be compacted progressively during insertion of the implant.
-Optimum secondary fixation with textured surface at the metaphyseal portion of the implant. |

Tornier Aequalis – BIO-RSA
Used in conjunction with Tornier’s Reversed Shoulder System, a simple auxiliary instrument set is used to create the graft from the patient’s humerus.
Benefits:
-Achieving natural shoulder contour
-Instability: eliminates slack in the remaining cuff muscles
-Significantly reduced scapular notching
-Improved internal/external rotation |
